Alta Diagonal obtains LEED Gold certification

The premises namely Alta Diagonal, located on the Avenida Diagonal, Barcelona, has been certified LEED Gold by the United Stated Green Building Council; one of the most recognizable operators in the sector of energy efficiency and sustainability. This operation has been carried out by CBRE, the leading international provider in consultancy and Real Estate services.

This certification is the result of the renovation works carried out by the owners of the property, Deka Immobilien, with the objective of improving its attractiveness, functions, as well as increasing its consumption and sustainability efficiency.
In this objective we highlight the installation of highly efficient air conditioning equipment as an example; this has reduced electricity consumption by 20% in the communal areas. This figure is equivalent to 600,000 kWh and would result in enough energy to power an electric car around the world 100 times. Furthermore, the installation of filters has paved the way for an increase in air quality, thus improving the working environment in the offices.
On the other hand, thanks to this reform, water consumption has been reduced by 25% in the bathrooms, a figure that increases to 88% with regard to the irrigation of the green areas. All thanks to the system employed for the recycling of grey water, the use of drip irrigation and the selection of native plants that require less water consumption.
